History of the hotel
The site on which Hotel Brooklyn stands was built in 1915 as the training halls for Leicester's Army recruits during World War I. Granby Halls subsequently became an exhibition, sports and entertainment venue, featuring big names such as The Who, Deep Purple, the Rolling Stones and The Police, hosting the Home Life Exhibition, boxing tournaments, the Riders Basketball team, roller-skating and radio shows.
The last band to appear at Granby Halls on 17 November 1995? Oasis!
Dogs Policy
The hotel welcome small dogs* and their well-behaved owners. They have even created a couple of 'pooch palaces' complete with a kennel for the little one to rest up indoors or out on the terrace. There's bowls, mats and even a doggie menu.
Please note, there's an additional charge of £15 per night for per dog, per room plus the costs of the doggie dinner of course if you choose from our menu.
*Small dogs are those under 10kg and 50cm tall at the tip of their ears.
