The Elan Spa at the 5 Red Star Bovey Castle is a sanctuary tucked away from the bustle of modern life. Echoing the tranquillity and therapeutic flow of the River Bovey, the bespoke spa experiences and treatments have been created to relax, revive and restore the body and spirit.
The dedicated team of therapists together hold a wealth of knowledge and experience encouraging a respect and understanding of the body that is both rare and valuable.
Bovey Castle is delighted to be using Temple Spa products and also Beauty Lab products. Temple Spa are a British Brand with a special Mediterranean Soul. The luxurious results driven skincare and spa experiences are a tool in the hand to "spa wherever you are" and importantly offer you a chance to live, breathe and love who you are. The spa offers an extensive menu of face and body treatments for ladies and gents which will leave you feeling revived, rested and restored. Temple Spa are proud to be a 100% British brand with over 20 years experience in skincare.
As well as using Temple Spa Products the spa also uses some Beauty Lab London products. Beauty Lab London specialises in researching ground breaking ingredients and pioneering formulations to produce beauty products that meet the demands of todays consumer. Beauty Lab use the philosophy of re-educating and re-activating the skin functions and deliver instant and long term results. Beauty Lab delivers results using the finest, purest and most refined ingredients. These paraben free powder products offer targeted solutions for every skincare concern. From peptides to pomegranate and collagen to quartz, products offer a scientific breakthrough which meet the most luxurious ingredients to offer a match made in skincare heaven.
Pool and Gym
Housed in the Orangery, the hotel's indoor Art Deco swimming pool overlooks the sun-terrace and the River Bovey, offering stunning views for miles over Dartmoor National Park.
Bovey Castle's spa facilities also include a jacuzzi, sauna and steam room. The hotel gym is stocked with a full range of Precor, cardiovascular and strength equipment.
The swimming pool is open from 7.00am until 8.00pm for adults and 9.00am until 5.00pm for children (accompanied by an adult).

Leisure facilities
As you enter the hotel prepare to be wowed by the history and glamour of yesteryear, with some contemporary edges added for good measure. Enjoy the stunning Spa, indulge in the sumptuous dining experiences on offer or just wander around the beautiful grounds and gardens.
Guests at Bovey can take advantage of numerous activities offered at the resort on a complimentary basis, such as daily falconry displays on the terrace outside the Great Western Restaurant every morning at 10.00am except on a Wednesday and Saturday; Daily egg collecting - meet a member of the activities team at reception at 9.00am every morning. Children can feed the chickens, as well as collecting eggs and meet the Bovey ferrets! Croquet /boules/petanque - available mid/late May until mid-September, a childrens play area with swings, slide and climbing frame. Between the herbaceous border and the archery field there are tennis courts - Hard courts are available for use unless pre-booked for coaching or by other guests (tubes of tennis balls are available from reception at £10.00 each).
For younger children the hotel have the Playzone for them to enjoy (accompanied by their parents), and for older children the Techzone.
The Techzone Room is geared to family membersf rom 8 to 18 years old.Techzone The room is designed to provide hours of virtual entertainment whilst staying at Bovey Castle. Current facilities include an Xbox, with more to be announced soon! The KidsZone has interactive activities aplenty like dressing up and imagination toys such as a wooden kitchen and crafts. The younger members of the family will be transported to a world of creativity that will capture the interest of all.

There are many more activities on offer throughout the year that are a minimal cost including cider or sloe gin making; fly fishing; archery, air rifle shooting, clay pigeon shooting plus the 4x4 off road track.
