Knaresborough Castle
This medieval castle dates back to the early 12th century and has ties with Goldsborough Hall. When Cromwell's Army were destroying Knaresborough Castle after the English Civil War, the soldiers were stationed at Goldsborough Hall.
Newby Hall
The hall has one of Britain's finest Adam interiors with Chippendale furniture, Gobelin tapestries and a contemporary sculpture park. More than 25 acres to explore along with some very large herbaceous borders.

The Walled Garden at Scampston
A stunning contemporary garden in Malton was created by internationally acclaimed designer, Piet Oudolf, and is set within the walls of the kitchen garden of Scampston Hall. Striking perennial meadow planting works well with more traditional parts of the garden and is complemented by excellent catering and plant sales areas.
RHS Harlow Carr

Thorp Perrow Arboretum, Bedale
There is more than 100 acres of woodland to explore with trees from around the world with 5 National Collections and 66 Champion Trees. Harrogate
Harrogate offers an elegant mix of boutiques and galleries, set within stunning architecture and handsome tree-lined avenues. The town centre is home to more than 20 antiques dealers and many exclusive shops, pavement cafés and award-winning restaurants, many based around the Montpellier Quarter.
Montpellier's specialist dealers trade in a variety of antiques, including furniture, porcelain, clocks and paintings. Look out for the Harrogate's antiques fairs in the springtime too - the perfect place to pick up a unique bargain. Alternatively, if it's independent shops you're after then London fashion designer Caroline Charles, Farrah's famous toffee and food emporium and hair and beauty specialists can all be found in the Montpellier quarter.
York
Wander the web of shopping streets to browse the amazing array of independent boutiques, vintage stores and popular high street names. Try Stonegate, which is an attractive old street full of interesting little shops, or The Shambles, which is Europe's best preserved medieval street, and the UK's most visited - now a wealth of shopping and restaurants.
Also, try the Coppergate Centre which is York's main shopping centre within the ancient city walls. Coppergate is home to the famous Jorvik Viking Centre and many big-name high street shops, café's, galleries and museums. Coppergate has an on-site multi-storey car park and the central bus stops and railway station are only a short walk away. Coppergate's outdoor area is used to host music performances, theatre productions and some of York's most popular annual events such as the St Nicholas Fayre Christmas market.
Leeds
Leeds is the North of England's premier shopping destination, with everything from haute couture to vintage delights. The Victoria Quarter, housed in an elegant Grade II listed building, is home to many of the world's leading fashion brands including Louis Vuitton, Vivienne Westwood, and Harvey Nichols department store. Gourmets will love the Corn Exchange with its domed food hall and delicatessens, or travel slightly further afield to the White Rose Centre where two floors of high street delights are enough to satisfy even the most enthusiastic shopper.
