The grounds
The gardens are designed to enhance the house by Thomas Mawson, and remain remarkably intact. He had an impressive skill in bedding these houses into their hillside settings, wrapping them in terraces and abundant evergreen plantings that eased the transition from indoors to outdoors living, and then seamlessly into the surrounding countryside.
History of the hotel
Lindeth Fell was built in 1909 as a private residence by the renowned local architects Pattinsons, who were responsible for so many of the local Arts & Crafts architecture for which the area is renowned.
It was converted into a hotel in the late 1970s, and subsequently bought by the Kennedy Family, in the mid 1980s, who ran Lindeth Fell as a very successful, award winning, 5 Star Boutique B&B.
Following the retirement of the family in 2023, Lindeth Fell has been bought by the Hindle family, owners of nearby Storrs Hall Hotel, as the first addition to the Storrs Collection.
Does Lindeth Fell allow dogs?
