Windermere is well served by its local visitor attractions, particularly if you're looking for indoors activities and things to do. From idiosyncratic collections to cultural institutions they're easily accessible from Lindeth Fell. Lakeside at the South end of the lake is home to a few making it a 'must visit' destination.

Beatrix Potter's home at Hill Top, and Wordsworth Grasmere.  Lakeland Arts Trust have Abbott Hall, Blackwell Arts & Crafts House, and Windermere Jetty, formerly known as the Steamboat Museum.

The Lake District is surely the best place in the UK for the choice and variety of walking routes. There is something to suit all abilities, and interests because it doesn't just have to be about hiking to mountain summits.

There are some easier walks close to Lindeth Fell that offer something special – the footpath from the ferry to Wray Castle is flat and mainly a hard surface, (vehicle access for the National Trust properties on that side of the lake). It leads along the lakeshore, through Temperate Rainforest. The walks around nearby Ghyll Head offer a mix of mountain views, a huge stretch of lake Windermere, a diversity of contrasting habitats, a really spectacular range of wildflowers, and the matching wildlife. It is most easily reached from the road past Blackwell signposted for Rosthwaite Farm.

There is something for everyone to enjoy in the area.
