Classic room room

Characterful rooms, the smallest doubles with 5 foot wide fixed double beds – except Ullswater's 6 foot bed which can be arranged as 2 twin beds. As with all the rooms they have lake or garden views from the first and second floors, and are peaceful and quiet.

Coniston

This first floor room has a beautiful lake view, touches of green are picked up from the view in the neutral off white decor. The white tiled bathroom has a power shower over the bath.  It has a fixed king size, 5 foot wide bed and 42 inch flatscreen TV.

Ullswater

Overlooking the gardens at the rear of the hotel, from the first floor. It is decorated in blues with rosy florals and plaids. The spacious bathroom has a bath and walk in shower, clad in warm stone colour tiles.  This is the only Classic room that can be arranged with the 6 foot super king sized bed, or with two singles.  It has a 32 inch flatscreen TV.

Esthwaite

A second floor garden view room facing west towards the Coniston mountains, (with tantalising glimpses of the lake). It is decorated in creams with touches of smokey blues.  The white en-suite bathroom has a walk in shower and the room has a 32 inch flatscreen TV.

Superior room

Beautifully spacious rooms located over the three floors of the house – Buttermere is on the ground floor and most suitable for people with limited mobility. They have either garden or lake views, towards the Coniston mountains, their room descriptions specify which.   

All but Thirlmere can be arranged as either a double, or twin bedded room.

Haweswater

A lake view room on the second floor, the extra elevation creates even more of a panorama towards the Coniston mountains.  It is decorated in cream strips, and red and warm grey florals and plaids. The en-suite walk in shower room is tiled in glossy white.  The 6 foot wide super king size bed can be arranged as two single beds.  It has a 32 inch flatscreen TV.

Rydal

A second floor room with lake and mountain views, (there's even a window seat from which to relax and take them in).  It is decorated in an eau-de-nil country house style bird and foliage wallpaper, The white tiled and wood beamed bathroom has a power shower over the bath.  The 6 foot super king size bed can be arranged as two single beds.  It has a 32 inch flatscreen TV.

Thirlmere

A lake view room on the first floor, with a 5 foot wide double bed, (it cannot be twinned).  Neutrally decorated in tones of soft warm stone and greens. The contemporary bathroom with walk in shower is part tiled in wood grain effect porcelain tiles.  It has a 32 inch flatscreen TV.

Buttermere

This is the only bedroom on the ground floor and suitable for guests with limited mobility. Looking out at evergreens in the rear garden it is decorated in gentle off whites, warm stone and buttery golds. The WC is part wood paneled in white, and the separate walk-in shower room is tiled in gently wood grained porcelain.  The 5 foot king sized bed can be arranged as two singles.  It has a 42 inch flat screen TV.

Lindeth

Enjoy garden views from this first floor room, decorated in creamy tones with country house style florals and plaids in blues and creams. The glossy white tiled bathroom has a walk in shower.  The 6 foot super king sized bed can be arranged as two single beds.  It has a 32 inch flatscreen TV.

Ennerdale

A  first floor room with garden views towards the Coniston mountains, (and just a glimpse of the lake). Warmly decorated in creams with touches of rusty reds in traditional florals and plaids – there's room for a 2 seater leather sofa too. The white tiled bathroom has a power shower over the bath.  It has a 32 inch flatscreen TV.

Master rooms

These are the largest and most spacious of the bedrooms, located on the first floor enjoying either lake or garden views, each has two comfy armchairs.

They all have Super King size 6 foot wide beds, which can be arranged as a double or twin bedded room. Extra to all the rooms' facilities and luxurious touches these rooms all have Smart TVs too, (remember to bring your passwords with you).

Grasmere

This is a first floor room with extensive views over lake Windermere and Claife to the Coniston mountains.  Soothingly decorated in off whites and soft greens, the en-suite with its slipper bath and walk-in shower is clad in wood grain effect porcelain tiles.  It has a 6 foot wide super king size bed which can be arranged as twin beds. It also has a 49 inch flatscreen Smart TV.

Windermere

Enjoy the beautiful lake and mountain views from this first floor room. Decorated in rich creams and taupes with touches of red. The white tiled en-suite bathroom has a bath with a power shower above.  The 6 foot super king size bed can be arranged as two singles.   It has a 42 inch flat screen Smart TV.

Tarn Hows

Overlooking our beautiful gardens from the first floor, decorated in rich creams with touches of red. The en-suite bathroom with bath and separate walk-in shower is tiled in creamy stone colours.  The 6 feet wide super king size bed can be arranged as two singles.  It has a 55 inch flat screen Smart TV.
