The restaurant has been awarded gold medals for rustic cuisine at the Scottish Hotel Awards, as well as winning "Best Restaurant in South West Scotland" and "Best Breakfast in South-West Scotland”,
They have an unfussy and classic approach to food and the dishes they prepare, taking our inspiration from British & Mediterranean peasant dishes as well as using classic Indian & South East Asian influences on the menu. To give new twists on old favourites and unspoiled traditional dishes cooked and served up in a relaxing, informal dining room.
All ingredients are sourced locally from Dumfriesshire and slightly further afield but they always try to source their ingredients within Scotland and the highlands depending on the season. All the produce is free range & organic whenever possible and many suppliers are also small family businesses who care about the produce they farm and sell. From Summer through to Autumn the small walled garden supplies us with fresh vegetables, herbs and fruit and gives the menu a really low "food miles" average.

The kitchen specialise in catering for all guests dietary needs, from the furry friends (who they love to have stay) to their human companions with specific dietary requirements. Trigony is the perfect place to enjoy a delicious glass of wine from the carefully curated list, a seasonal cocktail or local malt whilst relaxing in front of a roaring log fire.
The staff are happy to offer advice on wines, malt whiskies, Scottish craft gins and a large collection of local craft bottle conditioned beers.
They regularly introduce guest wines to the menu and all of the wines are available by the glass, so feel free to experiment and try something new. Each wine has been personally chosen because there was something that they loved about it, so please ask, they will be happy to tell you the story behind it. Each dish on the menu is paired with a suggested wine, but they can always recommend the best they have for your particular taste!
Richard creates a selection of cocktails in-house, which change seasonally, and reflect the tone and mood of the season.
