Hartwell House was once the home of the exiled King of France, Louis XVIII, for five years from 1809. The hotel enjoys a tranquil setting in the Buckinghamshire countryside, two miles west of the busy town of Aylesbury. The house stands in 90 acres of parkland. Inside you will find a dramatic Gothic hall with a staircase that includes carved Jacobean figures leading to 32 superbly appointed guestrooms. An additional 16 bedrooms are available in Hartwell Court, a converted 18th century coach house and stables.
